🎨 Margaret Henry
Artist Margaret Henry comes from Normanton and has helped encourage other artists from the area. Cathy Snow credits a workshop Henry held in 2006 with giving her the confidence to begin painting. Henry's own work has also reached settings beyond a gallery: in 2016 she spent three weeks creating an extensive painted environment for an intensive-care balcony at Brisbane's Prince Charles Hospital. The project was intended to offer patients and families a more peaceful space. Her story connects local artistic encouragement with work made for people experiencing difficult circumstances.
